Our Guiding Principles:
Relating to God
I commit to know Jesus and abide in Him daily.
I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus... Philippians 3:8
...he who abides in Me and I in him will bear much fruit... apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5
Relating to People
I commit to be a Christlike servant by identifying and meeting people's needs.
Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a servant to everyone, to win as many as possible. 1 Corinthians 9:19
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:21
Relating People to God
I commit to use my gifts in this unique setting to provide people life-changing encounters with Jesus Christ.
Use whatever gifts you have received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end we labor... Colossians 1:28-29
Relating People to People
I commit to enable people to better realize their role in God's worldwide redemptive plan.
How can they call on One whom they have not believed in, how can they believe in One whom they have not heard, how can they hear without someone teaching them, how can they teach without being sent? Romans 10:14-15
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them...and teaching them to obey all I have commanded. Matthew 28:19-20
Our Statement of Beliefs:
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences.
Our Affiliation:
Crossings is affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention. We have entered into a covenant agreement with the Convention to share similar beliefs and doctrine. The Cooperative Program, as supported by Baptist churches, helps to fund a portion of Crossings' budget. We are grateful for this partnership and the support of our local churches.
*While affiliated with the Baptist Convention, Crossings attendance and involvement is open to all groups and individuals who share our beliefs.
