Questions about Crossings Summer Camps...

Q: How can I contact my child while at camp?

A: You can call our central office 502-491-7000.  We will try to reach your child and have them call you back. If it is an emergency, we will connect you directly with our property.

During the summer of 2008 we are also launching Parent Point which gives parents a peak at what's going on at camp. One feature is an option to e-mail a camper. Visit Parent Point for more information.

Q: How do I pay for my group to attend Crossings? When are the different payments due?

A: Please call us at 502-491-7000 or click here to first register for camp.  We will then let you know of the deposit amount for each person (adult and student) attending, due by February 14, 2008.  The deposit is non-refundable.  The final balance is the next payment and is due two weeks prior to your group arrival.

This information is for Group Leaders only.  If you are a parent wanting to pay for camp, please contact your Group Leader.

Q: Can I get a refund if my child or if someone from my group drops?

A: The deposit of $75.00 is non-refundable.  The final balance is due two weeks prior to the arrival date of a student/group.  Once that two week period passes, the money is non-refundable. If the amount is paid before the deadline and the child drops before the two week deadline, we will refund the amount paid after the deposit to church, not individuals. The church may then give the refund to the correct individual at their discretion.

Q: What is the dress code?

A: We ask that all students and adults dress modestly.  For females, shorts need to be longer than fingertips when arm is extended down the side of leg.  We do not allow spaghetti strap tank tops.  Swimsuits must be one piece, no exceptions. Also shorts must be worn over swimsuits at all times, even in the water. For both males and females, shirts must be worn at all times when walking to and from the lake/pool. Download the Dress Code PDF.

Q: How much does it cost to send my child to camp?  What are the dates of your camp?

A: Click here for our 2009 prices and dates for Crossings Camps.  Our camp is designed for churches to bring in a group of students.  We do not open our camp for individuals, however, we encourage you to ask around your community for churches that are coming to Crossings and hook up with them.

Q: How do I fill out the medical release form?

A: We ask that all medical release forms are filled out on-line. Once the form is completed and submitted, a print screen will appear. Please print this out at this time because you will not be able to go back and print it later on.  Once the form is printed, please have this form notarized and turn into your group leader.

Q: As a youth minister and/or group leader, can I bring my young children to camp?

A: Because of the nature of our camp and the housing facilities, we ask that you do not bring children with you that are not old enough to attend as a student camper.  We will not be able to house them.

Q: What should I expect during the registration process?

A: We want our registration process to be fun and exciting for your group and quick and easy for our group leaders. When you arrive on campus, you will be guided through the property to a specific point to unload the students and adults for a group picture. From there, the group leader (we ask that you only send one person) will be taken to the registration area.  There will be signs to follow as we tie up any loose ends.  At the end of the registration line, the group leader will receive t-shirts, TAWGS, armbands, and a couple other things needed for the week.  From there, the group leader will join his group, be taken to their housing, and have plenty of time to unload all belongings before dinner begins.

Q: What is a POI? How do students choose their POIs?

A: A POI (Point of Impact) is an activity at camp such as Mountain Biking, Arts and Crafts, Field Games, the Tower, etc. Students will participate in one POI each day of camp. Once a group is registered for camp, they will have access to our online Medical Release and POI forms. Students can then fill in their top 8 choices to help us determine where to schedule them for their daily POI activities.
