Morning Celebration
Designed to wake you up each morning! Music, drama, announcements, games...you never know what might happen!
New Bible Study Group Structure for 2008
After reviewing your evaluations from last summer, one consistent theme jumped out…we need
smaller Bible Studies! Another suggestion we heard over and over again was Bible Study works best in the mornings. With all this in mind we introduce the new Bible Study structure for 2008.
All Bible Study will take place in the morning, consisting of a master teacher/large group session followed by a small group discussion/activity time. There will be two large group sessions each morning (split up by age) lasting 20-25 minutes which will be led by the camp pastor. Following these sessions, students will break out into their gender-specific small groups facilitated by our summer staff.
The groups will average between 10 and 15 students depending on the age/gender breakdown of the particular week. The smaller group sizes will help tremendously in teaching/relationship building and provide a great environment to dig deeper into the Bible Study material. These sessions will last around 30 minutes.
Blueprint
In addition to Bible Study in the morning, students will participate in a group activity named “Blueprint.” Students will remain with their small groups as they spend this intentional time with their small group leader continuing to focus on daily themes through recreation and other activities. These sessions will last around 30 minutes.
Point of Impact (POI)
This afternoon rotation is a time for students to play, learn, and hang out with staff. We have scheduled activities and workshops that students can sign up for.
Activities at Crossings 2008 include:
- Mountain Biking
- Tubing
- Arts and Crafts
- Basketball
- Christian Leadership
- Percussion
- Messy Games
- Rock Climbing (on one of our 50-foot climbing structures)
- and more...
Students will fill out an online POI card before coming to camp that indicates their preferences, and we do our best to get students in activities they most want to do. All students will be informed of their assigned POIs for the week on Opening Day.
Connect
The Bible points toward the importance of discipleship and this time is devoted for churches to spend time building relationships within their group. Individual churches will be able to use this time in any way they see fit. One of desires is to see your group grow closer throughout the week.
Reflect. Discuss. Have Fun. Connect.
C-4
C-4 is short for Crossings Controlled Competitive Chaos. 3 or 4 large teams comprised of 5-10 Bible Study groups will be competing in a week-long series of events during morning celebration, afternoon rotations, and maybe even meal times.
During this afternoon rotation, Bible Study groups will compete against other Bible Study groups to earn points for their larger teams.
Checkpoint
This time is for you to meet with your church group and reflect on the events of the day. This will be one of the most spiritually rewarding times for your group during the week. Another designated time for your group to grow closer together through worship, prayer, and more.
Shack Time
Each night after Checkpoint, the Shack will be open for purchasing concessions and official Crossings merchandise. Shack Time is a great time to hang out and relax.

**The Medical Release Form for Crossings 2008 will be available online no later than February 14th, 2008.**
Frequently Asked Questions about the Medical Release Form:
Why is the Medical Release Form online?
- The Medical Release Form is now an online form that has been reformatted to better meet your needs. The Medical Release Form is now being completed online because our insurance company is now requiring us to keep records until a student’s Statute of Limitations expires. The Statute of Limitations expires on a camper’s 19th birthday. Let’s take a typical 3rd grade who comes to Crossings for Kids, he/she is approximately 8-9 years old. That means that our insurance is requiring us to keep the typical 3rd grader’s Medical Release Form approximately 10 years. You can imagine that this would quickly become a mountain of paperwork, were it not digital.
Is the site secure?
- The Medical Release Form is completed on a secure site. This is the same encryption technology that many banks are using online.
I lost my form before giving it to my group leader. What do I do?
- Should you lose this form or if you are not able to print out the form, your group leader will have access to print your medical release form. Please contact them to acquire your new form

BLUEPRINT: A Radical Call to Faith and Obedience
Accepting the Gospel as truth is a life-changing decision. Throughout the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus offers the truth and finally gives the challenge - build your house wisely on the rock of the Truth or build foolishly on the sand and do things your own way.
At Crossings 2008, we’ll meet the One who is Truth – the Architect, examine the plans He’s given, gather the supplies we need, and begin building on the Rock.
Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV)
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
