Do I get paid?
Yes.
How long is the summer?
Typically training week begins mid-May and camp runs through the last week in July, with opportunities for a limited number of staffers to remain for a couple of weeks in August to facilitate for Plan Your Own groups.
What does a day look like?
Do I have to work the whole summer?
There are half summer options.
What do I need to do before the summer begins?
Get your LIFE GUARD CERTIFICATION. It is now required of all summer staffers to be life guard and CPR certified through the American Red Cross.
What age groups are at camp?
6th through 12th graders for all the Student weeks. 3rd-5th grade for the Elementary weeks.
When do I know if I have a job?
Our goal is to complete all interviews and hiring by late November early December.
When do I know what property I will be at?
This is a flexible date. We will do an initial placement around the first of the year, however as needs arise a staffer could be moved to another Crossings program at any time before the summer starts as well as throughout the summer.
Do we have weekends off?
We do have days when we are not programming throughout the summer and on those days, unless otherwise indicated, staff are off. We do however insist that staffers are wise in plans made during days off.
Do I stay with students?
No, all staff will be lodged in the staff lodging provided.
What if I need a day off?
If there is a family event or a wedding you are in, Crossings needs to know as early as possible and we will do our best to work something out so you would be able to make the event.
